Reading Fundamentals

Minimum Requirement: 30 min/day, 2 days/week

The Reading Fundamentals program is for preschool and Kindergarten students who have had little to no literacy instruction. Students will gain phonemic awareness skills and alphabetic fluency. Upon completion of Reading Fundamentals, students will be able to read and spell open and closed syllable words containing digraphs (e.g., she, chip, mad). 

There are 32 total lessons in this Orton-Gillingham based program. Each lesson may take 1-5 days to complete. By the end of 4 lessons, your child will learn how to read and spell 2-letter words. By the end of 9 lessons, your child will learn how to read and spell full sentences ranging from 3-7 words. 

Each lesson includes: 

  • Development of 10 rotating phonemic awareness skills

  • Review of previously learned concepts

  • Introduction to 1 grapheme (letter or letter combination) and phoneme (sound)

  • Letter formation and spelling practice

  • Introduction to 1-2 sight words

  • Decoding and fluency practice (in later lessons)

Reading Remediation

Minimum Requirement: 1 hour/day, 2 days/week

The Reading Remediation program is for elementary-aged students who have been taught literacy skills but are struggling to read and spell. Students will gain fundamental skills, including phonemic awareness skills and sound-symbol relationships, and apply them to more complex literacy patterns. By the end of the Reading Remediation program, students will be able to read and spell multi-syllable words containing blends, digraphs, vowel teams, diphthongs, contractions, and more.

​There are 51 total lessons in this Orton-Gillingham based program. Each lesson may take 1-5 days to complete.

Each lesson includes:

  • Phonemic awareness development

  • Review of previously learned concepts

  • Introduction to new graphemes and phonemes

  • Word and sentence dictation

  • Syllable division practice

  • Introduction of 3-5 sight words

  • Fluency reading and comprehension development

Morphology Masters

Minimum Requirement: 1 hour/day, 2 days/week

The Morphology Masters program is for students who have completed the Reading Remediation program or upper elementary-aged students with strong literacy skills. Students will learn and define words containing prefixes, suffixes, Latin bases, and Greek bases. By the end of the program, students will improve reading comprehension, improve spelling of complex words, and expand their vocabulary. 

There are 65 affix lessons, 43 Latin base lessons, and 10 Greek base lessons in this Orton-Gillingham based program. Each lesson may take 1-5 days to complete. 

Each lesson includes:

  • Review of previously learned concepts

  • Introduction of new morpheme with definition and examples

  • Reading practice

  • Word and sentence dictation

  • Fluency, vocabulary, and reading comprehension development

Services: Text

Learning Therapy

Minimum Requirement: 1 hour/day, 3 days/week

The Learning Therapy program is for elementary-aged students who struggle with attention/focus, body regulation (fidgets, moves around often), active listening, following directions, copying from the board, getting thoughts onto paper, and/or executive function (time management, organization, and planning). Students will receive a personalized plan to target skill deficits that will directly impact their learning and academic performance.
